Note from Jed: This was a happy mistake. I used a San Mai billet that I thought was Hitachi White and 410 stainless--I was wrong. The billet turned out to be Hitachi White laminated with pattern-welded stainless damascus.
This knife was hand hammered, water quenched and cold-forged. The blade has been etched, highlighting the high-carbon core. The handle is cocobolo. The forge finish, will result in some discoloration.

Care information
Care information
All steel will eventually rust. The steel I use will rust very quickly if not maintained.
Simply wash with soap and water, towel dry and store, to protect your investment.
High carbon steels, as I use, will develop a petena over time, some of my tools will already have an etched blade, when I want to highlight the core of the blade.
